WATER WALK

Walking Water

Today I got up pretty early to see how it felt to retreive water in Africa. I got up around six to go to Rocky Nook park, I was the third one to fill my three gallon jugs, they were way heavier than I thought they would be. When other kids were filling up I went down to the creek with some friends. We skipped rocks and walked across this tree that had fallen and it was pretty fun. Next John came and got us, the walk was starting so we all ran up the creek to get are jugs. Now we were walking it was really hot and I was barefoot. When your carrying 50 pounds and its hot its a lot harder than it looks. I was with my friends Carter and Zac who were really finny, Zac had a jug of water on his back that he was carrying with his forehead, and Carter had his in a back pack. We all were having fun but struggling up the long hill. When we were about half way there was a rose bush that I didn't see and I stepped on a thorn and then dropped the jugs on my foot it really hurt but I got back up and kept walking. After a long walk I was here and was so happy to stop and be done with it. So I got my shoos and back pan and went to class.

When I woke up the next morning my back and shoulders hurt and getting out of bed was hard to do. Now I know how hard it is for the people in Africa and other places to do this but for 5 plus hours. I learned a lot about who useful water is and how hard it can be to get it in other countries.
