KIVA BLOG 6

To day I leave to go back home I need to be at the airport by 1:30 because my flight leave at 2 I was happy with my stay here even though it was a short one. The air port was 30 minutes away and it was 7:45 so we ate to gather and played some cards during breakfast it was fun. Next I went in to my room and packed all my clothes in my suit case and put it in the car for later.

Then Iman told me to follow her and I was wondering why she took me in to my room and picked up the rock and said this is a magical rock it will bring you happiness which is the most important thing she said. SHe also said this has passed through her family for 32 years and she was the last one so she passed it on to me. This meant so much to me I couldn't let go of it I healed it all the way back to Santa Barbara. 

We hung out for a couple hours and then it was time to go.

We finally got there e both got out and she gave me a hug and I did the same, she said she would miss me and she had a lot of fun with me. I grabbed my stuff and that was the last time I saw her but we kept in touch.

KIVA BLOG 5

To day I woke up with the smell of eggs, It smelled so delicious and good like I was at home. Then we sat down and ate for ten minutes and she told me what we were doing today, it was great she had made plans for us to go to Citadel in Amman, it is supposed to be like an ancient rouen. that not a lot of people have seen before. Im stoked to see it. Wee had to be there at 9:45 and it was about 9 so I Got driest and comes my hair. We jumped in the car and I think she used to be a race car driver if she wanted to go she would go we were going about 90 MPH on a little street I tout it was fun though.

When we got there it was kind of cloudy and cold, We started the tour a little early and I got a lot of great  photos of the old building and here was also carvings in the rocks witch was very cool too. We were there for about an 1:30 but it was very interesting and I learned a lot about it. By the time we go back to Iman's yurt we were both hungry and Iman was planning to make her burritos that I've heard so much about, they are supposed to be really good and spicy. I sat down, put my napkin on my lap and then she brought them out of the oven and my eyes got so big it smelled AMAZING. I picked it up and took a big bite.

It was so good and I was so stuffed after that I got in to a food coma because of how many burritos I ate so I sat on her couch and listened to the radio, it made me fall asleep. I woke up around 6:45 P.M. I was all rested up and woke up with an appetite. We went out to night to a friend of Imans restaurant they had pizza, soup, chicken, and many other things. It was pretty fun the music was on people were dancing and we got a table up stairs over looking the whole place. I got a the chicken it was ok but not the best. Later we went back home and I taught Iman how to play cards she loved it we played war and crazy eights we had a fun night.

It was a great day.

KIVA BLOG 4

When I got off the pane it was really hot so I took of my jacket and stuffed it it in my bag. When I looked up I saw Iman she was sitting on the bench in the parking lot so I grabbed my bag and ran over there. She jumped up and gave me a big hug, I felt like at home when my family as so happy and loving it was great.

Next we through my 80 pound bag in the trunk, got in the car and drove off. We drove for about 50 minutes through the dessert. It was about 82 degrees out side, but it felt like 100. When we pulled up she had a pretty nice sized hot, but it looked like a yurt. 

It was really nice in side and roomy she had it decided into three parts her room gust room and the bath room. It smelled supper good, I think she had oranges incense. Then she told me to put my stuff in my room with had a little window with a rock in the bottom of it, I set my bags down and went out to be with her, she was making dinner. I asked what she was making and she said soup with crackers. It only took her about 10 minutes to make it and it was really good soup, it had chicken and parsley in it and I think the soup was tomato. I was tiered after the long flight and drive so I told her I was going to get some rest so we can have a lot of fun in the morning. She gave me a hug and said to sleep well.

Before I went to Jordan I had to save up and make sure I had enough money, find out the currency exchange rates and all that stuff, here is a list of the exchange rates.

$1.00 is equal to .71 cents in Jordan.

$5.00 is equal to $3.54 in Jordan.

$10.00 is equal to $7.9 in Jordan.
$20.00 is equal to $14.18 in Jordan.
$50.00 is equal to $35.35 in Jordan.
$100.00 is equal to $70.90 in Jordan.

I got all the money I needed and was happy to be able to go in such short notice.

KIVA BLOG 2

Before I left to Jordan I learned ten phrases in Jordanian so I could speak a little of there language. The ten were,

4. Good bye = Ma’asalama
5. Where is the bathroom? = Ayna ajedu

7. I don’t understand = La afham

9. I’m hungry = Ana Jae’
10. Hurry up = Asree
11. I feel sick = Ana marred

They all came in handy to me for the 6 days I was there because I could talk to locals and people at restaurants. It was great!

KIVA BLOG 1

I am going to Jordan to meet Iman who I am loaning money to for her store, I am super excited because I've never been there before and I get to experience there culture and the way they live. I am also hearing that it is a very pretty place but also very poor to. I hope I can experience both.

I leave tomorrow morning and just bought my plane ticket on line. Next I went into my room and got my suit case, I packed for six days. While I was packing I thought to my self about Maruge and how amazing it was to be with him and learn about his culture and people.  Now I get to go to a different place and do the same thing or something like it. When I was done packing I got in bed and fell asleep ticking about the great time I am going to have with Iman.

My alarm just went off, its 6:30 and my plane leaves at 8:00. So I got in the shower and woke myself up, it felt really good. After that a got my stuff, put in the back of my car and drove to the airport. On the way there was a a traffic ascendent so I was a running behind a little and got there just in time to get on the plane. I was happy and supper excited to meet Iman. After I got settled I went back to sleep on the plane.
