Emmanuels Vist Day 9 and 10

DAY NINE

To day is Emmanuel's last day in Santa Barbara, so we made plans to have the most fun we could. This morning Emmanuel and I went out to breakfast at Star Bucks he got a muffin and fruit to eat and I got a hot chocolate and some eggs Emmanuel was very excited about are day to day. After breakfast Emmanuel and I went to east beach with are boards. When we got there it was flat so we used them as stand up paddle boards. We went all the way over to butterfly beach were there were waves to we put are paddles down and went surfing. Emmanuel was really starting to get the hang of it he could almost turn. He was doing great. After about 2 hours of that we went in a took a break. We had to decide how to get back to the car. We realized that we should walk because if we rode it would be really hard to go against the current. So we grabbed the paddle and boards and walked back. on the way back Emmanuel started to talk about how lucky we were to have homes, cars, and warm places to sleep. It was really touching to here him say that, and I wish I could make him a huge house and a huge bed. It was about time we finally got to the car. It was around 11:30 so we were getting hungry. emmanuel and I headed home to drop off the surf boards and eat some lunch. We made some sandwiches and had some chips. It was really good according to Emmanuel. 

After lunch Emmanuel and I went on the Double Dolphin a ship that sailed around Santa Barbara beaches. We got on the boat and they gave Emmanuel a cool sticker os the boats name. We started to leave the doc and head to Ledbetter beach.Emmanuel and I went inside to get something to drink. I got a Dr. Pepper and he got an ice cold leminade. Then very one started using out side so Emmanuel and I followed. It was dolphins there were thousands of them jump right next to the boat Emmanuel was so happy he's never scene a dolphin we was jumping up and down and screaming. I was so happy for him. Later that day we got off the boat and started to head to my house. 

When we got there it was around 5, we were both tiered so we watched some television on the couch and fell asleep. When Emmanuel and I woke up  it was 5:45 and we were hungry. I had made plans to got to Soho at 6. Right when we woke up we got ready and went, we were running ten minutes late we parked are car and ran. We got to the entrance and had to pay to get in. We were stoked the food was being surved and the live music was playing it was great. We had fish with fruit it was really good. The music was great I really liked how professional they sounded. It was getting late so Emmanuel and I went back home and went to bed because of his long flight.

DAY TEN

To day is Emmanuel's last day his flight leaves at 11 so he has to be there at ten. We got up fairly early so we could hang out while he was still here. I got Emmanuel a surf board to take bak to Africa so he could keep learning. On the surf board I wrote this for Emmanuel to remember the great times we had together. It was time to go I drove to the air port and we were both sad we weren't going to see each other for a long long time. I let him out of the car and gave him a big hug. I hope he had a great time with me and can't wait until he comes back. I will miss him a lot. After that he walked into the airport and waved good bye. I waved back. Emmanuel Rocks!

Emmanuel's Vist Day 7 and 8

DAY SEVEN

This morning Emmanuel and I ate at Maxes its a great breakfast place to get waffles and eggs. Emmanuel said he liked my eggs better than this place so we didn't come here again, but he said the waffles were great. To day Emmanuel and I are going to San Luis Absipo. We are planning on going shopping, seeing the gum wall, and having a great time. We left around 10 and got there at 11. First we went in a store that had a lot of pranking things like a pen that shocked you or a clock that had a spider jump out of it. I love stores like that because I have an older brother named Todd and plays tricks on me all the time. So II got a couple of things to get him with. After that we went into a store that was selling art Emmanuel got a collage  made out of birds, I didn't get anything in that store. Next we walked past the gum wall Emmanuel said, "wow so many colors." After that I started laughing and said thats gross. We kept walking and finally got to my favorite store its were I got my scare board. The store was called Moondogies, funny name. I got a bunch of stickers and a really cool poster with a surfer on it. 

Next we went back to are car and drove to get some lunch, we ate at The Cheese Cake Factory. I ordered a strawberry cheese cake and Emmanuel ordered a banana cheese cake. he said it tasted like a banana pie. He was very happy we chose to eat here because he hasn't even heard of this place.

After lunch we went to Hurse Castle and got a tour of the entire thing we saw, golden pools, high dives,  tennis courts, huge statues, and many other cool things. My favorite part was seeing the pools the were in core and had the cooled diving boards in the world. Emmanuel's favorite part was the statues because of all the detailed designs and carvings. I am really happy we got to go there because it is a rare opportunity to see that castle. After that we went back to town and walked through some more stores but didn't buy anything. We stayed down there until 4:30.

It was about that, so we headed home we got home around 5:30 and made some dinner we had steak and rice for dinner. We ate the dinner table and played cards while we ate witch was very fun. After dinner Emmanuel was still hungry so I made him a hot dog. He said thanks for dinner and letting me stay here. After dinner we watched a movie called Nights Tail, it was a really good movie because it was funny and looked real, not fake. Emmanuel said there was a lot of action, that he didn't like but he also thought it was funny. Right after the movie Emmanuel and I were boy very tired so we went to bed, and fell asleep within the next 10 minutes.

DAY EIGHT

To day Emmanuel and I going to Magic Mountain, Emmanuel is very excited, he said he has been of a ride  in LA but it didn't go very fast. When we got there, Emmanuel and I ran to the ticket counter and go two tickets. We went in and rode all the rides.

Emanuel's favorite ride was Super Man because of how it dropped your stomach. My favorite ride was Goliath because of the big the drops are in it. Emmanuel said this was nothing like the ride he went on. He said these are huge and go very fast. Then Emmanuel said he wanted to try an up side down one, bunt one that wasn't to crazy. So I took Emmanuel on Revolution, when we were in line I cold tell Emmanuel was very nervous, so I told him we didn't have to do it but he wanted to face his fear. We got on the ride and it was going click click click all the way to the top of the coaster. The lop was right in front of us. Emmanuel did it he was so happy and then he wanted to ride more with loops and being upside down. So we went on a few more. It was lunch time Emmanuel said he was very hungry so we went to Panda Express because there wasn't very good food at the park. Emmanuel said it was ok but not the best, I agreed with him.

After lunch we went on a ride thats like your flying I for get what it was called but it was really fun I was on the right and Emmanuel was on the left they pulled us up to the to and let go it was like we were flying we soured through the air and turned around After that It was about 3 we had to sit in the line for 1 hour. Thats the worst part about Magic Mountain is the lines they are so long I wish we could have gotten fast pass. We had time to do one more ride so we could be home by dinner time because of the 2 hour drive. Emmanuel Really wanted to go on a water ride so we did. We got in this little log and went fast there was a huge drop coming and we were so excited we held on and flew do it, the the ride was over and we had to go home. We finally got to are car and headed home. We got home around 6:30 And Emmanuel was very hungry so I made him a grilled cheese sand witch with some fruit on the side. He said thanks, of course and wanted to go to bed.

I wasn't tired so I stayed up and watched the movie Smoky and the Bandit. I thought it was a really funny movie because no matter what the sherif can't catch him. My favorite part of the movie was when the Bandit rummer the creek, and then the sherif tried but just crashed. After that I brushed my teeth and went to bed.

Emmanuels Visit Day 5 and 6

DAY FIVE

When Emmanuel woke up he got in the shower getting ready for are busy day. After that we mad breakfast and ate we got in the car and drove to my soccer game, I was playing DMS Emmanuel was cheering me on the whole time. It was really nice to have him come to my soccer game on his vacation. It was tied 1-1 with one minute left I chipped the ball over the defense and we scored with 30 seconds left in the game.

Emmanuel was so proud of me, he ran on the field and hugged me while jumping up and down.

After that we headed home so I could change and take a shower. On the way home there was a lemonade stand with two little girls, we stopped the car and asked how much is it was, they said 50 cents, we got are money had some refreshing lemonade and said thanks, next  we got back in the car and drove home. Once we got home Emmanuel went and sat in my hot tube he said, "The water is really hot." So I turned it down for him. Then I got in the shower it felt really nice to get all the sweat off my body and to put on clean close.

Later we went to the beach again, but this time we went to Led Better with no boards just us and my dog jake. At the beach we were body surfing, playing with Jake, swimming, and laying in the sun. I really wanted to eat something, so we got jan back in the car and went to IN-N-OUT, the best burgers in town. I ordered a cheese burger with tomato or lettuce. Emmanuel ordered the same thing, when he had his first bite he went into shock. Emmanuel said this was the best burger I've ever had.

After that we decided to go back home and get in the hot tube because the water for the beach was 56 degrees. We were in the hot tube for 35 minutes talking about his flight over here and how he likes it in Santa Barbra. The one thing I found out was he really missed his family so I said why don't you draw a picture of them and tell me about each one. He said ok that might help. So I got him some paper and colored pencils and he drew the most amazing picture I've ever scene It was of his whole family playing jumprope. He said, "this is my mother she has black hair and the prettiest smile in all of Africa." "This is my father who just died two months ago, I miss him so much." "This is my brother he is very stubborn, just like my sister is they get along great. I had tears coming down my face when he talked about his family, the he spoke about them was so satisfying. 

Its around 5 so Emmanuel starts to get hungry I made homemade Chicken Noodle Soup Emmanuel said he's had that once before and loves it so we had that while watching MythBusters he said, "wow I really like tho show its very interesting how they can explode things and drown cars in lakes without getting in introuble. After dinner Emmanuel and I were very tired so we got are pajamas on and went to bed.

DAY SIX

To day Emmanuel wanted to go on a hike so we went to 7 Falls. It was a hot day so we brag lots of water. We started around 7 so it wouldn't be so hot and ended around 11. At the beginning of the hike I told Emmanuel we were going to be swimming so he brought board shorts. about half way through Emmanuel saw a nute, it had a yellow belly and an orange back. We stopped and played around with the note for a while and drank some water. After a couple of minutes he got are stuff together and kept going. Now it was around 8:30 and we were almost there we had about 50 yards to go, we turned the corner and there it was 7 Falls right in front of us. Emmanuel said it looked like a painting so elegant and pretty. Next we got are trunks on and jumped in Emmanuel said the water was warm but it was really cold. We splashed around, jumped on each other, and climbed all the water falls so we could jump off them. Next we laid in the sun to dry off and headed back home. We got home around 10:45 and took a brake from going going going. 

When we got home we were really tired so we took a nap until 4:30 it was a 5 an half hour nap, he must have still been tired from his plane. While he was asleep I was picking up the house such as washing windows, and cleaning the walls. Then Emmanuel woke up and was very hungry so I made him a sand witch with lettuce, ham, mayonnaise, and cheese. After that we got dressed and went on a bike ride to the beach. We watched the sun set and rode home. Later we ate at The Harbor Restaurant and ate fish tacos they were very good. Emmanuel said he loves Santa Barbara and never wants to leave. I started to giggle as well as he did. When we got home we watched some television and went to bed.

It was a really nice and easy going day.

Emmanuel's Visit Day 3 and 4

DAY THREE

To day Emmanuel and I had to get up very early because we were going out to the islands. We got up around 5:30 so we could be at the harbor by 6:30. Emmanuel said, "what time is it" so I looked at the clock    

and it was 6:10, so we grabbed are stuff, and off we went. When we arrived at the harbor it was 6:24, we got on are boat and started are journey. We were on the boat for 2 hours until we final got to Catalina Island.

Once we were there we went on a huge hike all over the island we saw deer, fox, rabbits, bison, fish, and many other animals. My favorite part of the day was when Emmanuel asked me if I felt comfortable going into this really dark cave, he is so sensitive. Around 4 we headed back to the boat, on the way back Emmanuel said he saw a Bald Eagle, I didn't see it but I'm happy he saw it because its are state bird. We finally got back to the boat and headed home.

Once we got home we ate some dinner, we ate homemade chicken parmesan and fresh vegetables from my garden. Later that night we watch the Hangover Emmanuel said it was really funny. He said, "I really liked
how the the tiger was in the bathroom." Then he started laughing again. Within the next ten minutes Emmanuel fell asleep.

DAY FOUR

As the sun came up Emmanuel and I had breakfast and got ready to go on a long bike ride all through Santa Barbara. We made are lunches, put the bikes on the racks and drove to the Biltmore were we started. When we got there we unloaded are bikes and rode toward the mission. About half way through I got a flat and Emmanuel fixed it all by himself, witch was really nice because I don't know how to. 15 minutes later we got back on are bikes and kept going. Next we stopped at Arigato and got some sushi, He said, "wow this is great I've never had this before." Later we got back on are bikes and and kept going. About 3 miles away from the mission Emmanuel took a spill and crashed. I jumped off my bike and ran over to help him he said he was fine and but his knee was all scratched up so we took are sandwiches out not knowing we were going to stop. I found out he hit a speed bump and over corrected. We finally got to the mission and are ride was there so we packed up, put are bikes in and drove home. 

When we got home Emmanuel took a shower while I watched some television. When he got out we did some gardening we planted carrots, lettuce, and watermelon. He said he wanted to keep going so we did, we raked, got the rocks out of the soil, and planted many more things. We were suppose to go to an art show at 5 so we changed close and went we saw many paintings. there were paintings of beaches the mission, and this one painting that really stood out to me it was about a younger child teaching and older man how to surf, just like I did with Emmanuel.

It was about 8 when we got home so Emmanuel wanted to write in his journal about what we did today so  when he got back home he would never forget while he did that I fell asleep on the couch after the long day we had.

Emmanuel's Visit Day 1 and 2

DAY ONE

This evening Emmanuel arrived in Santa Barbara he was very tired after a three day flight. I was so excited to see him. Every second I got more any more excited, and couldn't wait for the fun we would have for the next 7 days. When he got off the plane he was very hungry so I took him to Free Birds it was delicious he said. He ordered a burrito with beans, rice, cheese, avocado, and meat. I ordered Nachos with the same things on it. Right after that we went home and he fell asleep.

DAY TWO

This morning Emmanuel and I went to breakfast at Raynaues Bakery we both ordered chocolate croissants and egg's. It was delicious.

Around 10 I took Emmanuel to Hollister Ranch and taught  him how to surf.

He fell a couple of times but got back up and kept trying. After the the 5th time he rode a wave all the way in. He said "I was just flying."

After surfing we went down town and got some lunch at Natural Cafe. Emmanuel said they had a lot of the same food there as I do in Africa. After Lunch we went to Mconnel's Ice cream, Emmanuel said "that's amazing." I started laying after he said that.

Next we went back home and relaxed, it was really nice to hang out with him. Later we played some Basketball in my back yard, he killed me the score 28 to 18. For the rest of the day we just played around the house and had a good time.
